About Us

Our family gained an appreciation for caramels from our grandparents and great-grandparents. To be honest, we’re still not quite sure where they came from, but the large glass bowl placed perfectly beside the couch was always overflowing with them. We can still taste that creamy texture, and feel that subtly stretchy consistency. We have spent lots of time working with the very best chefs in the confectionery world to take you back with us to those fond—and most importantly, delicious—memories. We hope they make you smile, just as they do for us.

Caramels Creamy Past…

The first form of caramels was made by the Arabic nation in the year 1,000 AD by the mixing of sugar and water to form a crystallized, hardened confection. They were referred to as an endearing term that literally translates to “ball of sweet.”

Caramels were first brought to the United States in 1650. But in 1886 — before chocolate — Milton Hershey founded the Lancaster Caramel Company and the popularity of caramels skyrocketed. Generations since then have enjoyed this treat, and over the years, it has become one of the most authentic, comfort confections that often takes people back in time to a happy memory in their lives.
